A fortnightly brief on technology transformation, data protection and AI governance, from the team that owns the outcome, not just the status slide.
A quick note from Barry Lewington.
Two ideas on owning AI.
The AI question nobody wants to answer.
Last year every AI conversation was about what AI could do. This year there is a harder question, the one that makes a room go quiet: who owns it? Who is accountable for AI decisions, AI risk and AI outcomes? In too many organisations the honest answer is that they are not sure. The organisations that benefit most will not be the ones who implement AI first, but the ones who implement it with the clearest understanding of ownership, accountability and governance.

Pilots prove AI can do something, then stall the moment leaders ask what it is worth. Teams start with what AI can do instead of which business problem they are solving, proving something is possible gets mistaken for proving it is workable, departments run separate experiments with no shared direction, and scaling raises governance questions nobody has answered. Spot it when nobody can say how much a pilot will save, how success is measured, or who approves it going to scale.

Scored below 3 on any of those questions?
That is exactly what our AI Readiness Assessment covers. We score you across the same six areas: strategy, data, technology, people, governance and risk. In 3 to 5 weeks you get a scored readiness report, a prioritised gap analysis and a practical adoption roadmap.
Explore the AI Readiness Assessment →- Shadow AI Unapproved AI use
- Staff using AI tools the organisation hasn’t approved or doesn’t know about. Ask your team: “Which AI tools are people using today that IT hasn’t signed off?”
- AI Governance Oversight and control
- The policies, roles and controls that decide how AI gets approved, used and monitored. Ask your team: “If an AI tool made a costly mistake tomorrow, who would be accountable?”
